Quotes
Creating quotes, approving them, and how approval auto-creates a job booking.
A quote is a priced offer for one or more service levels, given to a customer before they commit. When a customer accepts a quote, JATT Portals can auto-promote it into a job (connote) without re-keying the data.
Where quotes live
Section titled “Where quotes live”In the sidebar, click Quotes under Pickup & Delivery. The list shows every quote with status, customer, route, total, and date.
Creating a quote
Section titled “Creating a quote”- Click Create Quote (the green button in the sidebar).
- Fill in the same kind of fields as Create Booking — customer, pickup, delivery, cargo, options.
- Tick all the service levels you want priced in parallel (Standard, Express, etc.).
- Click Calculate Rate.
The pricing section shows one priced row per service level. The customer can decide which one to accept.
Approving a quote
Section titled “Approving a quote”When the customer accepts:
- Open the quote.
- Click Approve.
What happens behind the scenes:
- The quote’s status flips to APPROVED.
- A new connote is created with all the quote’s details copied across (customer, addresses, cargo, options, the accepted service level’s rate).
- The quote keeps its APPROVED status (it doesn’t flip to “Converted” — the source quote is preserved as the audit trail).
- The connote appears on the Jobs list with status Pending.
Common cases
Section titled “Common cases”- Customer changes their mind on service level — open the quote, change the selected service level, Approve again. A new connote is created; the previous connote stays in the system (cancel it if not needed).
- Customer wants minor edits — approve to create the booking, then edit the job inline from the drawer.
- Quote came in from the embedded widget — handled the same way. The widget posts to the same Quotes API; data shows up on the Quotes page identically.
Quote vs Booking — which to use
Section titled “Quote vs Booking — which to use”- Use Create Quote when the customer wants to compare options or hasn’t committed yet.
- Use Create Booking when the customer has already committed and you just need to enter the job.
